One of deep house music’s true originators, Kerri Chandler has spent decades crafting a sound that is warm, life-affirming and deeply human. His music has a unique ability to unite a dancefloor, delivering what feels like a shot of sunshine through the speakers.

Rooted in soulful and authentic house music, Chandler’s influence stretches far beyond the DJ booth. Through Kaoz Theory, he has championed contemporary talents including Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler and The Martinez Brothers. His seminal imprint MadHouse Records has also celebrated 25 years of genre-shaping releases with a landmark anniversary album that tells the story of deep house itself.

Kerri Chandler came up in an era before rigid genres, when connection was the only rule. Growing up in New Jersey surrounded by funk, soul, jazz, hip hop and gospel, he absorbed these influences and carried them into his music.

Those early sounds remain embedded in Chandler’s work today, allowing him to seamlessly connect the past, present and future. Affectionately known as the Stevie Wonder of house music, he has spent decades creating timeless records rich in musicality and emotion.

Completing the day are two Sydney artists whose energy sits perfectly within this musical landscape: Simon Caldwell and Reenie.

Simon Caldwell is a DJ, radio presenter and co-promoter of Sydney underground institution Mad Racket. His sound moves through deep, soulful house, techno, funk, jazz, electro, booty and hip-hop.

Reenie is an FBI Radio and 2SER presenter, drummer, DJ and producer. Her sound brings together expansive percussion, cosmic synths and electro-chug energy.

Together, Simon Caldwell and Reenie add their own distinct energy to a day built on soul and made for the courts.
