Citizen will bring their Halcyon Blues World Tour to Liberty Hall, Entertainment Quarter on 27 February 2027, with very special guests Drug Church joining them for the Australian dates. Last in Australia in 2024 as headliners of New Bloom Festival, Citizen are returning with new music and a sound shaped by nearly two decades of creative evolution.
The band have consistently followed their own path, taking creative risks and challenging expectations throughout their career. Their latest release, Halcyon Blues, draws together elements of Citizen’s musical and personal growth, creating a dynamic and confident record that reflects the sound they have developed over 17 years.

Citizen’s story began with a group of Toledo high schoolers and has grown into a career spanning 17 years, with the band becoming long-running headliners capable of selling out shows around the world.
Throughout that journey, Citizen have continued to evolve. Their music has moved through raw emo, menacing post-hardcore, anthemic alternative, garage-y indie pop and much more. Rather than staying within one particular sound, the band have consistently explored new territory while retaining their own identity.
Halcyon Blues brings elements from throughout the Citizen catalogue together into a singular record that sounds distinctly like the band. The album represents the latest chapter in a career defined by persistent sonic evolution and a willingness to challenge expectations.
For dedicated fans, the Australian tour offers the opportunity to experience this new chapter live when Citizen return to Australia in February 2027.
Joining Citizen on every Australian date are Drug Church, the Albany and Los Angeles-based five-piece known for creating their own distinctive brand of outsider music.

For the past few years, Drug Church have followed their own path, creating songs that combine contrasting sounds and ideas. Their music brings together crushing aggression and strong hooks, while their lyrics explore life’s darkness and discomfort with sardonic wit and without judgement.
Drug Church last visited Australia in 2023 for intimate shows in Melbourne and Sydney. For their return, they will join Citizen for a full national run and make their first appearances in new cities.
Together, Citizen and Drug Church bring two bands with distinctive approaches to modern rock and outsider music to Australia in February 2027.
