The Showring

This large open air space in the heart of the Entertainment Quarter provides an adaptable centre stage environment for special events and seasonal activities such as a circus, markets, ice skating, acoustic music performances, community and sporting events, marquee functions, corporate training days, barbeques and picnics.

The Showring, site of the fabled Easter Show parade, offers an extensive open air space suitable for hosting the largest of events.

The Showring can also be linked with the Hordern Pavilion, Royal Hall of Industries, The Forum, the Byron Kennedy Hall and Hoyts to provide site-wide entertainment events. The showring is 8,000 square metres in size. This historic area is capable of hosting 7000 guests for a cocktail function and can accommodate up to 15,000 people for a festival.

The Showring Market Umbrellas

The Markets area can be used either in its own right or as a sheltered part of your event on the Showring. The Market umbrellas can accommodate 500 people for cocktails.

Licence

The showring does not have a catering license. Caterers are required to use their licenses when serving alcohol.

Power and Communications

Ample three phase and single phase power is available throughout the Showring. There are also data points for phone and internet connection, should this be required.

Amenities

There are public amenities on the side of the Showring. However, should private facilities be requested, they can be facilitated.

Parking & Access

There is a coach bay adjacent to the showring in which private parking can be arranged. The car park at EQ has a capacity for 2000 cars over 7 levels, with the first two hours parking free.
