‘2050: The Battle for Sydney' is the latest, most advanced laser skirmish game in Australia, complete with a $1M movie set fit-out and a story line sure to divide Sydneysiders over good versus evil.
All the action takes place in the tunnels and destroyed catacombs underneath a Sydney, 41 years in the future. Complete with ruins of local landmarks such as the Opera House and Centrepoint Tower, the arena features a water filtration plant, the city foundations, deserted streets and an old workers' factory.
Resistance warriors can seek momentary refuge underneath the three-metre high extractor fan, or face their evil opponents head on atop the mezzanine floor. Enemies will battle it out, good versus evil, as they negotiate their way through the maze of ramps and tunnels. The theatrics of the game are made even more intense by the world first diffuse mood-lighting.
‘2050: The Battle for Sydney' centres heavily on the timely environmental theme of global warming and subsequent water shortages. Whilst the game has been designed and scripted to provide maximum fun, it centres around the old battle of good triumphing over evil, and reinforces the urgent need for the environment to be everyone's responsibility.
